Payment is due on the day of service. Confluent Relationship Therapy uses a HIPAA-compliant Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform that processes credit card payments safely and securely online.

Insurance

Confluent Relationship Therapy does not currently accept insurance as a method of payment for services. As a result, services are considered “out-of-pocket” or sometimes referred to as “self-pay” or “out-of-network”. This means clients are fully responsible for payment of relationship or couples therapy services upfront.

However, Sara can provide you with a “superbill” document to give to your insurance on a monthly basis. This allows for potential out-of-network reimbursement that would be provided directly to you, if you have out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan. You may want to call your insurance company to see what your out-of-network benefits are for behavioral health including couples/family therapy services. Please note that all no-show or late-cancelled appointment fees are not covered by any insurance carriers.

There are many benefits to working with an out-of-network provider. Check out this article that explains the many reasons: 8 Reasons to See an Out-of-Network Therapist

Did You Know?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. For example, this includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
